According to Hindu religion, Goddess “Maa Shakti” is as important as God Brhama, Vishnu and Mahesh. In Hinduism, according to mythology, one can find the concept of devotion and worship of goddess in Vedas, Puranas and Upanishads. According to these Vedas and Puranas, people call goddesses as Maa, Devi, Mata, Maiya or Mata Rani etc. According to Vedas, Devi is a Sanskrit word for Goddess. In Veads, there are stories of bounty of goddess, such as Mahi, Bharti, Puramdhi, Parendi and Dinsana etc. In Hinduism, the word for goddess is “Shakti”, which also means “Power” or “Energy”.

The main goddesses in the world are goddess Saraswati, Lakshmi, Kali, Durga and Parvati. Goddess Parvati is the consort of lord Shiva “the destroyer of Universe” while goddess Lakshmi is the consort of lord Vishnu “the Preserver of Universe”and Saraswati is the consort of lord Brhama “the creator of Universe”.
