Navratri Mantra

Navratri is a hindu festival dedicated to nine goddess and celebrated in the all parts of India. It is continuously celebrated till nine days and ten nights. On the first three days goddess Saraswati, next three days goddess Lakshmi and on the last three days goddess Durga is worshipped. During navratri, people indulge in lots of rituals like worshipping goddess at morning & evening, do fasting, singing aarti, hymns, chanting mantra and do jagran at night.

तृतीयं चन्द्रघंटेति कूष्माण्डेति चतुर्थकम् ।।
पंचमं स्क्न्दमातेति षष्ठं कात्यायनीति च ।
सप्तमं कालरात्रीति महागौरीति चाष्टमम् ।।
नवमं सिद्धिदात्री च नवदुर्गाः प्रकीर्तिताः ।।

Sloka in Sanskrit:
या देवी सर्वभुतेषु शांतिरूपेण संस्थिता।
या देवी सर्वभुतेषु शक्तिरूपेण संस्थिता।।
या देवी सर्वभुतेषु मातृरूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः ॥

Sloka in English:

Ya devi sarva bhutesu, shanti rupena sansitha,
Ya devi sarva bhutesu, shakti rupena sansthita,
Ya devi sarva bhutesu, matra rupena sansthita,
Namastasyai, namastasyai, namastasyai, namo namaha!

Sloka Meaning:

The meaning of above sloka is - “The goddess who is omnipresent as the personification of universal mother, The goddess who is omnipresent as the embodiment of power, The goddess who is omnipresent as the symbol of peace I bow to her, I bow to her, I bow to her again & again.”
